Mackenzie Martinelli studied Graphic Design during her time at Dallas Baptist University and later received her interior design degree from NYIAD.
Directly out of school, Mackenzie began her career as a design assistant with a luxury custom home builder in Westlake, Texas, where she gained invaluable, hands-on experience in the high-end residential building process. Working alongside builders, architects, and homeowners, she developed a deep understanding of elevated materials, custom detailing, and the level of precision required to execute fully bespoke homes. She later expanded her expertise with a Dallas-based design firm specializing in luxury furniture design and procurement, further refining her eye for craftsmanship, scale, and curated selections tailored to sophisticated interiors.
Mackenzie went on to own and operate a successful home staging company, where she specialized in furnishing high-end, vacant properties. In 2021, she founded Sandalwood Interiors, where she brings together her background in construction, furnishings, and styling to create cohesive, elevated interiors that feel both timeless and deeply personal. Her work is defined by a thoughtful, tailored approach—balancing function and beauty while incorporating layered textures, custom elements, and carefully curated finishes. Mackenzie lives in the Dallas–Fort Worth area with her husband, David, their daughter, and their Golden Retriever, Luna.
